NAUČNO – ISTRAŽIVAČKA DELATNOST


Rad istraživačke grupe Laboratorije za genetiku integriše različite aspekte u oblasti populacione  genetike biljnih i životinjskih vrsta. Rad grupe je posebno usmeren na primenu različitih molekularnih  markera u cilju sagledavanja genetičkog diverziteta, strukture populacija, rasvetljvanju taksonomskih i filogeografskih pitanja, kao i problema iz domena konzervacione genetike. Naučno-istraživačka delatnost usmerena je ka analizama prirodnih populacija odabranih grupa beskičmenjaka, kičmenjaka  i biljnih vrsta. Primenom i razvojem adekvatnih molekularnih markera, Laboratorija za genetiku se bavi pitanjima struktuiranosti populacija, kretanjima brojnosti populacija, fragmentisanosti populacija, demografskom istorijom, a sa ciljem sagledavanja potencijala populacija da odgovore na stalno promenljive uslove sredine. Jedan deo istraživanja laboratorije usmeren je na analizu polimorfnosti gena i asocijacija genotip-fenotip kompleksnih oboljenja čoveka, i to kardiovaskularnih, endokrinoloških i onkoloških obolenja.
