Capacities of LaRES for education, training and service
Members of LaRES are qualified to provide education, training and service in following areas:
- Maintaining and working with laboratory animals including different surgical techniques and application and injection techniques
- Cell culture techniques: Preparation and maintenance of different primary and immortalized cell line
- Molecular biology techniques: 1) Basic manipulation with RNA/DNA (RT-PCR, RQ-PCR, cloning, mutagenesis, expression assays in bacterial and mammalian cells). 2) Transgenic technologies. 3) siRNA and functional genomics. 4) Molecular diagnostics of Hepatitis C virus (HCV), Human Papilloma virus (HPV), Chlamydia Trachomatis.
- Protein detection methods Western-blot analysis, Immunoprecipitation etc.
- Methods for detection of protein- DNA interaction: ChIP (Chromatin immunoprecipitation)
- Analysis of enzyme kinetic and activity
- Static and kinetic analysis of hormones and second messengers secretion, and determination of their concentration using RIA (cAMP, cGMP, PRL, FSH, LH, GH, GnRH, steroid hormones), RRA (Scatchard, Competitive analysis), ELISA, Protein assays, Nitric assays, ATP assay, CANDLES assay etc.
- Methods for determination number and functionality of mitochondria (TMRE assay; MitoTrack assay).
- Immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry and fluorescent microscopy
Different in vivo and in vitro techniques for examination of activity of potential newly synthesized substances with agonistic and/or antagonistic effects (subcellular fractions and enzymatic activity, primary and immortalized cell line, different in vivo models and levels).
